Majestic mosque & a Hindu Shiva Temple! So near to one another, yet poles apart!
At Badami, my expectations were to only see ancient cave temples. What I encountered was a little boy in the 20th century, a sculpted security guard from the 7th century, gorgeously carved interiors of caves of the Hindus, Jains, and all of a sudden, through these rocks, I was astounded by a glimpse of this dome - a mosque, I assume, and a Shiva temple atop the hill in the distant background. While climbing uphill later, to see the temple and to meet Shiva, my thoughts then, were what I put in the caption here. |
