Lavish and beautiful interiors
A neogothic building from 1829,the Notre Dame in Montreal bears no resemblance to its namesake in Paris. The stained glass windows, paintings, statues, gold-tipped polychrome carvings and rich altarpiece are noteworthy. The basilica is known also for its Casavant organ and Le Gros Bourdon - the largest bell in North America. |
