Donna asked if goldfinches eat sunflower seeds -
this pic from last summer says "yes!" . . .
But only off the flowers!
That's why I want to pollinate.
IF I fill my new and too-small sack feeder with thistle seed then I'll have lots of them at the feeder . . . I may try it too.
I never fed it to them in a standard feeder 'cos they make such a darned MESS! :D
I do not feed "standard grain feeds" unless I can't get seeds, simply because the birds throw the milo and millet seeds out of the feeder to get to the . . sunflower seeds! And I got tired of constantly weeding . . . |
