Part 5.
After the plane finally finds an open gate we rush to the taxi stand to grab some transport to the village to meet up with everyone.
An hour wait for a taxi. Someone is testing me.
While waiting in line we start up a conversation with the person in front of us who lives in nyc and is just arriving home. Turns out that the guy is an actor/comedian who just wrapped up a movie with one of the guys from The Sopranos. He's our age and oddly enough, he grew up in Cleveland, Ohio.
I casually ask him if, as a former dude growing up in Ohio, he was familiar with one of my favorite bands, The Godz. His jaw drops and he says, "I didn't think anyone remembered those guys...", then, "my cousin was in The Godz, have you heard of Freddy Salem?". Of course I've heard of Freddie Salem and we begin chatting about the band and how he can't wait to call his cousin and tell him he met a stranger that turned out to be a fan of his band.
Small world indeed... |
