Exterior to the search light emplacement on Fort Warren, Georges Island. During the day, the searchlight would have been stored within the rectangular opening you see in the picture. At night, it would have been rolled out on the rails (to the left and right at the photo's bottom). The poor couple were enjoying a romantic moment (red wine and all) before they were interrupted by me and my troop of noisy kids and their noisier parents. |
