A not-so-wonderful picture (the flash failed on me)of two wonderful people at Harman's Cheese & Country Store, Sugar Hill, New Hampshire. The Sugar Hill Historical Museum is directly across the street. When these kind folk found out that the museum was closed, and that the mother of one of us in our group had art on display there, they called at least 8 museum trustees to find a volunteer who would open the museum to us! And the cheese? They advertise it as, "The World's Greatest Cheddar Cheese" and you know what? They may be right! Creamy, tangy, and rich with complex flavor, this is the cheddar dreams are made of (at least mine, anyway). We also bought the smoked cheddar and the venison summer sausage. With a loaf of fresh bread, we had a gourmet picnic for lunch the next day when we visited Story Land. Hey, I'd share, but I'm greedy. Get your own by visiting www.Harmanscheese.com. |
