TODAY IS TAX DAY. IT IS ALSO JACKIE ROBINSON DAY. WHAT A GREAT MAN.
Major League Baseball Clubs playing at home on Friday, April 15 will pay special tribute to Jackie Robinson as part of the second annual Jackie Robinson Day.
In March 2004, Baseball Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig established Jackie Robinson Day throughout Major League Baseball. Every Club playing at home on April 15 will honor the legacy of Robinson, who, on April 15, 1947, became the first player to break the Major League color barrier.
The 14 Major League Baseball Clubs hosting Jackie Robinson Day in 2005 are the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers
