Dwight D. Eisenhower, President of the United States of America. He was the Allied Supreme Commander in WWII. When he was running for president he promised to go to Korea and end the war. The US lost some 33,741 dead, 92,143 wounded, 4,420 missing in action and 2,847 died in POW camps. The war was very unpopular in the US. And when he became the president he ended the war. Another of our heroes that knew enough was enough. A cut and runner and a Republican at that. |
