Laurie Selpien a very nice lady has a web site on the Smith, Voves, Jones etc. family tree. It seems we are related as she has family from the Smith and Jones side. Even the Davis family. My grandparents came from Wayne county in southern Illinois. She put this on her web site, it is a photo taken in Oct. 1907. I do not know anyone in this picture, but some may in fact be in my family. The children are all farmers kids. Some walked miles to get to school in hot or cold weather. I don't see any shoes on any of the boys. Our kids today have school buses with AC. |
