My long lost friend and almost sister, Dawna, accepts yet another award for her untiring work for the Red Cross.
After living all of her life in Northern California, she transferred from the Santa Cruz office to the Santa Barbara office (jeallllous!) where she again serves as Director of Health and Safety and works her rear off.
She and I became friends when I bought Copenhagen, whom she bred. She also bred Boss, and she hasn't heard yet what happened to him.
But I was able to leave her a voice mail and e-mail today (HER BIRTHDAY!) after a couple of years of looking for her (her mom has Alzheimer's and doesn't always remember where Dawna is).
I cannot WAIT to talk to her again!
She will hate me for putting up this photo as it's not flattering, she's really quite pretty! I found it on the Santa Barbara Red Cross site!
HOORAY FOR FRIENDSHIP!
PS: She also manages the band called Ram-bunk-shush, pictured in the two previous photos, which she took!

"Los Olivos, CA, June 8, 2006 – On Wednesday night, June 7, at 5:30 pm, the American Red Cross, Santa Barbara County Chapter kicked off its 2006 Volunteer Recognition & Annual Meeting at the Crossroads at Firestone Family Estates in Los Olivos. Serving up a hearty buffet of ham, mashed potatoes and apple crisp, the event was filled with a friendly mix of Red Cross volunteers, employees and guests. A barbershop quartet, 4given, serenaded the crowd as they enjoyed the buffet.
