The Hilltop Players at West Liberty State College open the 2006-2007 season on Oct. 31, with their production of the classic award-winning musical, “Cabaret.”
“Cabaret,” written by Joe Masteroff (book), John Kander (music), and Fred Ebb (lyrics). Kander and Ebb are also responsible for the music and lyrics for the equally successful and honored “Chicago.” “Cabaret” focuses on four individuals: an English cabaret performer, an American writer, his German landlady and her Jewish fiancé and is based in Berlin during the frenetic, chaotic, amoral world of the 1930s at the rise of the Nazi party.
