I hope the beast works well for Fred. I fee better but still can't talk very well. I helped David mow some this morning and he is still mowing. Leah called and wanted us to come out but I told her I just didn't feel like it yet. Maybe we can go our next weekend. I am on vacation starting next weekend for a week. Boy do I need it right now. I will have David call you and tell you the terrors of hunting for antenna tower. I am sure Fred filled you in on some of it already.

We'll have to get down to the Buffalo Gap Grassland near the SD border, which is supposely is returned to the 'real' praire . . .would that be neat or WHAT? That grass in the photo is "brome grass", not a prairie native. It's all been HAY here for so many decades!

This Forest is comprised of 2 national forests, **3 national grasslands**, a tree nursery and is host to a Job Corps facility. The Nebraska National Forest is an unusual combination of forests and prairie grasslands. The diversity includes the mixed grass prairies of the ***Buffalo Gap***, Fort Pierre and Oglala National Grasslands. The native ponderosa pine forest of the Pine Ridge Ranger District adds to the ecosystem mix. Hand-planted forests (Bessey Ranger District and Samuel R. McKelvie National Forest) within the Nebraska Sandhills with their combined grassland and forest are unique to the National Forest System. And finally, Charles E. Bessey Nursery, the nation's oldest federal tree nursery, rounds out this interesting and challenging combination known as the Nebraska National Forest. A variety of recreation an
