duncan I'd love to know what model she has got. Good morning Roger. Have survived christmas and no damage in Australia from the tsunamis. But reading some of the stories makes me wonder how safe we are living near the ocean.
tanddjohnson Hi Lori, now we will see alot of pictures from you.
Misshomespun Good afternoon, Merry Day after Christmas, hehe. I love you 2. Hope you had a good Christmas. I'm glad taht you like all of your artwork for Christmas.
Oh fun - my stepdad and his wife gave us our (used but wonderful) digicam last fall (2003) - whoooweee a whole new world! Re the lady tieing messages to tumbleweeds - nig grin - a different take on the "mesage in a bottle" theme? Cool!
Nore re Gospel of Thomas - I read it again and read up on it (various sources); my impression is unconnected sayings many of which are in the four canonical Gospels already; the rest of which either sound as if the writer is being deliberately "mystical" or as if two sayings were "smooshed" together. Researchers say it emerged with other "Gnostic" books abour 2nd century AD (A heretical group per our church) wherein the people were trying to prove that they could "rise above" the physical into
wherein the people were trying to prove that they could "rise above" the physical into the metaphysical realm (so to speak) if they did all the right things. That's the 'Diane's Digest' version. :) My comment from yesterday still stands. My opinion for *myself* is that it doesn't add or subtract from my personal faith . . .
Happy day after the Happy day!
mdanforth nice! reading the manual??
I always have been and still am a seeker . . . that's why I had the book! :) I also spend a lot of time "with" the great men and women through the centuries who have proven to be leaders of faith (Thomas Merton is one), and I have a (Catholic) study bible and several bible study books. I pray a lot and try to listen more than I talk! :X
BTW I forgot to ask (duhhh) what do YOU think of the Gospel of Thomas? :)
duncan Canon A75. Great camera. My brother has one and his son-in-law has one.
duncan Roger. I read a book from my library about King David. It was a large book well written but made some very interesting observations. I'll try and find out the name. It makes King David more human than the bible does.
duncan Found it in my library catalogue on the internet.Subject= Kind David of Isreal, Author = Jonathan Kirsch, Title = Kind David The Real Life Of A Man Who Ruled Isreal. 380 pages. But very interesting.
duncan error Kind = King.
duncan It reminds me very much of some of today's leaders on both sides.
jtravassos Ha! Nice shot! Congratulations!
